This is a book of powerful poems and over 50 outstanding illustrations of wild animals,
birds, pets, people and the earth, written with hopes for increased compassion and respect
for those with whom we share this beautiful world. This is a joint project between the writer
and the illustrator who both want to emphasize the value of all lives and all voices.
These poems are voices- calls from the earth from many, thoughts and worries from others,
Although written with a devotion which underlies the whole book,
they do not soften or ignore the concerns for and threats to our shared world.
It is the truth of value, beauty, equality, togetherness and an overriding love and concern
for the earth which inspires this book.
It is written for people who care about the natural world, who like birding and hiking and camping
and care about all varieties of animals from bison, coyotes, deer, rabbits and more,
for people who care about the all the earth’s forests and jungles and rivers and lakes.
It also written for those who visit and support National and State Parks, National Wildlife Refuges,
and local and National groups and organizations whose work is critical
for the survival of our earth, birds, wildlife and all creatures.
